eGovernment Leader Adds Search, Online License Printing Capabilities to Regulatory for State Agencies
Boosts Speed Ease of Finding Status of Professionals Supplies Credentials Instantly Improves Agencies Quality
New York (June 1, 2011): Aithent™ Inc. the recognized innovator in regulatory compliance management solutions for financial services, government, and insurance organizations, today announced two enhancements to its Aithent Licensing System™(ALiS™) that makes finding information about professionals, like insurance agents, accountants and investment advisors, faster and easier while giving those individuals the ability to print licenses or other government credentials right from their computer screens.
“It’s extremely important to deal with professionals who are duly licensed by the state government department or agency that oversees them,” said N. Venu Gopal, Aithent’s CEO. “ALiS’ new search capability makes it easier to verify licensing status.” Where ALiS is not used, people still have to phone or write a given department or agency to get this information.
In the case of insurance agents, along with essential license information, the new search feature lets users identify the lines of insurance the agents are licensed to sell; their locations; their insurance company affiliations; and when their licenses expire. Searches can be performed by entering the name of the agent or, if it is known, his/her license number.
The new online license printing feature allows a professional to have an in‐force credential the instant his/her application or renewal is approved. No longer must there be a wait of days or weeks before he/she gets the official certificate that confirms state‐approved professional status. In turn, this capability means real-time and cost‐savings for state governments as the need for processing and postage is eliminated; a reduction that can represent hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
As state governments look for ways to do more with less, the newest features of ALiS make the system even more appealing to budget‐constrained departments. The Aithent system is unique in its ability to serve as a shared resource for multiple agencies that yields significant cost efficiency and productivity improvements.
“Public entities seek to affordably bring better services to constituents and businesses, whether to provide greater transparency or more efficiency; especially in the current economic environment,” Gopal said. “ALiS’ search and online printing features are the latest examples of Aithent’s leadership in devising and delivering meaningful regulatory automation solutions to state and municipal governments.”
Aithent automated licensing systems are used by government units of the states of Arkansas, Michigan, New York, and Washington and, in a partnership with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, more than 20 other states.
